Do you know where your children are?
My daughter just started her Freshman year of High School two weeks ago. Last Friday night the school had their first dance.
She came home on Thursday and told us she and several of the girls wanted to walk to Jane’s house after school on Friday, hang out there for a few hours then walk back to school for the dance. “Where does Jane live?” asked my wife. “I don’t know” was the reply – “I just know it is within walking distance from the school.” As parents, we want to know where our kids are. Our daughter didn’t know where Jane’s house was, but rather than say no, we gave her a GPS Heroes Personal Tracker to leave in her purse. Her eyebrows went up for a second, then she said “Sure, OK.”
On Friday afternoon, my wife was able to log in and “watch” the girls walk from school to arrive safely at Jane’s house (now we know where she is), and then witnessed them safely walk back to school for the dance. Our daughter had fun. We had peace of mind. Win-win.
